A Bengaluru court has granted bail to the wife and in-laws of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash who committed suicide few weeks back and in a video note alleged harassment against them.
Subhash's 40-page suicide note and one-and-half hour video explaining the situation had garnered a lot of opinions on social media as he alleged that his wife and her family harassed him and pressurised him to pay Rs three crore for divorce which led him to take the drastic step.
Subhash died on December 9 and his wife Nikita Singhania was arrested from Gurugram while, her mother Nisha Singhania and brother Anurag Singhania were picked up from Prayagraj on December 14 in the abetment of suicide case.
The police said they were brought to Bengaluru and sent to 14-day judicial custody after being produced before a local court.
The three accused appealed to the Karnataka High Court to direct the session court to dispose of their bail plea and later the HC asked to dispose of the petition on January 4.
Earlier on December 16, the Allahabad High Court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to Sushil Singhania, uncle of Nikita Singhania, in the suicide case.
The order was passed by Justice Ashutosh Srivastava who was hearing an anticipatory bail filed by Atul's wife Nikita Singhania and in-laws.

It was also submitted that Sushil Singhania is an elderly person of 69 years of age and has a chronic medical condition. He is virtually incapacitated and there is no question of him abetting the suicide.
Not just that, it was also argued that there is a distinction between abetment andharassment and if the suicide note is taken on its face value, the allegations levelled at most would be taken to be harassment for implicating the deceased in false cases and extracting huge sums of money.
After hearing the counsels for the parties, the court observed, "Considering the above, the court is of the opinion that applicant Sushil Singhania is entitled to get the privilege of pre-arrest (Transit) Anticipatory."
The father of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash earlier called for strict punishment for those who “harassed” his son, asserting that his ashes will not be immersed till justice is served.
His father, Pawan Kumar told PTI, "I thank the Karnataka Police for arresting them (Subhash’s estranged wife and in-laws). All those who harassed my son should be punished so that he gets justice, and his soul rests in peace. I will not immerse the ashes of my son till we get justice."
"This series is not just about the two teams playing; it's about reviving the spirit of hockey in Delhi. We hope this will inspire more young players from the region to take up the game," Harmanpreet stated in a press release issued by Hockey India.
"My son was being harassed and tortured for money, and humiliated by his wife... I request Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all concerned… please give us justice," he added.
Kumar also sought the custody of his four-year-old grandson.
Subhash's family also alleged that Nikita Singhania had filed 'false' cases against him and his kin over the years and demanded the cases to be withdrawn.7bet gaming or sevenbet
