Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner said he was hopeful of his side making a deep run in the FA Cup this season after they booked their place in the fifth round with a 2-0 win away at Doncaster. (More Sports News)

Goals from Daniel Munoz and Justin Devenny handed the Eagles a routine win over League Two opposition and set them up for a tie with rivals Millwall at Selhurst Park.

With their top-flight status likely secured for the 12th successive season, Glasner admitted Palace “have to win” in the next round against their London rivals to continue their run in the competition, with the club having last made the semi-final in 2022.

“I am told it will be a big derby,” he told BBC Sport.

“The game happened a few years ago? But it is good playing at home and it will be a great game for our fans.

Glasner was pleased with the performance of Adam Wharton, who managed over 60 minutes on his full return from injury, having endured a stop-start campaign, while he was also happy to see loanee Ben Chilwell make his debut off the bench in the second half.

“Adam Wharton played 60 minutes after a long injury – he was excellent,” Glasner said.

“It was planned for him to 45 minutes but he did so great and felt well, so we did 60.

“Even then, he wanted to play more. Ben Chiwell had his debut and Romain Esse had more minutes.

“It’s important for them.”
